Object – cooling tower number 2 of the Astrakhan TPP-2. Completed tower renovation project using our design – Evaporative cooling outdoor air system. Completed the works on manufacturing and installation of a pilot plant of the system in two variant execution. System operation was examined by name Vedeneyeva All-Russian Research Institute of Hydraulic Engineering (Saint-Petersburg). The report of the Institute “Defining the economic effect of the cooling tower number 2 Astrakhan TPP-2 of the introduction of evaporative cooling outdoor air system” indicates that after the reconstruction of the tower an additional supply of electricity amounted to 16.2 MW during the summer period, and the period of return on investment – 0.8 years.
